No. We're an independent database — not a school, district, state, or the Department of Education, and not affiliated with any of them. We build from public sources. Always confirm important dates with your district's own official calendar.
When we haven't yet confirmed a district's calendar for a school year, we estimate its dates from nearby districts in the same state and from that district's own history — and we label every estimated date clearly (a hatched pattern and the word "estimated"). We'd rather show you a labeled estimate than a blank page or a false certainty.

Yes — the per-district pages are free and always will be. A parent should never hit a paywall to find out if there's school tomorrow. The paid product is the API, for businesses that need bulk, multi-year data across all districts.
We re-check district sources daily and version any changes, so the calendars stay up to date and the multi-year archive keeps its history.
The public pages show the current/upcoming school year. The full multi-year archive — plus forecasts for future years — is available through the API.
